Who May Borrow Books:
Any residents of Delaware County are able to receive a library card and check out books. When applying for a library card juvenile patrons (18 and under) MUST have the signature of a parent or guardian, following with his/her date of birth and current address. Adult patrons must show proof of current address and name by providing a valid driver’s license or state ID.

Borrowing Privileges:
ALL patrons are allowed to take out 100 books per library card.

Library cards are NOT transferable. Books will be issued to patrons for three (3) weeks and can be renewed for an additional two (2) week time period. Video/DVDs will be issued to patrons for three (3) days for (feature), 7 days for other. Periodicals and other things such as music, CD- ROM, art prints, and vertical files are issued to patrons for three (3) weeks.

Renewals:
Most items may be renewed three times. You may not renew an item if others are waiting to borrow.

Holds:
If you want an item that is checked out from a DCL member library, you may place a hold on a book or DVD at any DCL library’s circulation desk. When the item is returned, it will be held for you at your local library. You will be notified when the item arrives. Held items must be picked up within three working days. Some restrictions will apply.

Magazines:
Magazines may be borrowed for a term of three (3) weeks. Any magazine lost or damaged will result in a charge equal to the cost of the magazine.

Behavior:
We invite you all to the services and programs that we offer. We just ask that you respect everyone’s privacy.

Staff Authority:
Library personnels are authorized to close the library at any time if and when they feel there is a serious disciplinary problem. In the event that a situation escalates to physical/verbal harm the Sharon Hill Police Department will be notified and an officer will come to deescalate the problem.
